Founding Engineer, Backend and Firmware

Full-time
On-site
$150,000-200,000/yr
San Francisco, CA

Job description

About the company

We build a wearable AI copilot for industrial field technicians, live today in eight countries. We have raised a $5M seed round led by a top-tier fund and are hiring four founding engineers for an in-person team in the Bay Area.

About the role

This is the systems seat closest to the hardware: real work on the glasses themselves, so genuine firmware experience is required. That means flashing and adapting vendor

firmware, working in embedded Linux, RTOS, or device SDKs, evaluating camera and sensor hardware, and defining specs to drive an ODM. It is also backend-leaning full-

stack on a modern stack: comfortable close to the metal with C, C++, or Rust, and owning a real-time multimodal pipeline end to end.

What we're looking for

• Genuine firmware experience: embedded Linux, RTOS, or device SDKs, including flashing and adapting vendor firmware.

• Comfortable close to the metal with C, C++, or Rust, and on a modern backend stack such as AWS, GCP, Supabase, or Railway.

• Able to own a real-time multimodal pipeline end to end.

• 1 to 4 years of experience, or more if exceptional.

Compensation and terms

$150,000–$200,000 base, plus 2% to 3% equity

• Flexibility higher for exceptional candidates

• On-site in Burlingame, SF Bay Area

• Visa sponsorship is available for candidates already in the US
