Senior / Staff Software Engineer

You will own the foundational platform systems that every product module in the company depends on. This means building the agent frameworks, context and orchestration layers, verification tooling, and financial data infrastructure that the rest of engineering ships on top of — work that multiplies the output of the entire team rather than serving a single feature.

This is a high-ownership, high-ambiguity role on a small team. You will report directly to the CTO in a flat organization, make architectural calls without a long approval chain, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with founders, customers, and controllers. Expect to move between deep backend systems work and customer-facing discovery in the same week, and to ship full-stack when the problem calls for it.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Build and own the core platform layer — agent frameworks, orchestration, verification, observability, and developer tooling that every engineering pod builds on.
• Design and scale the financial data platform that ingests, normalizes, and reconciles data from ERPs, banks, billing systems, payroll providers, and CRMs into a single trustworthy source of truth.
• Lead architectural decisions under ambiguity: identify bottlenecks before they become blockers, make and defend technical bets, and set the standards other engineers follow.
• Work directly with customers, controllers, and CFOs to understand real finance workflows, then translate them into reusable platform abstractions rather than one-off implementations.
• Drive horizontal, cross-functional initiatives that raise the engineering ceiling for the whole team as the company scales from roughly $3M to $10M ARR.
• Build enterprise integrations against ERP, banking, and financial data APIs, with the reliability and auditability that finance-grade systems require.
• Ship full-stack when needed — including TypeScript and React work — to get an end-to-end capability into customers' hands.
• Establish and champion engineering practices for AI-assisted development, testing, and code review across the team.
• Mentor engineers informally through design reviews, architectural guidance, and high-quality code that sets the bar.
