About the Company

Our client is an established multidisciplinary design firm that brings architectural, engineering, and surveying professionals together under one roof. This integrated structure supports seamless coordination, practical problem-solving, and a broader understanding of how every building discipline contributes to a successful project.

The firm offers a highly collaborative environment where professionals at all career stages can contribute meaningfully, gain exposure to the complete project lifecycle, and develop their technical and leadership capabilities.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking motivated Architects and Architectural Designers at multiple experience levels to join its Binghamton team.

Opportunities are available for early-career designers seeking hands-on experience and structured mentorship, as well as experienced architects prepared to lead complex commercial, educational, municipal, institutional, and other building projects.

Early-career professionals will receive more than production-focused assignments. They will gain exposure to design, documentation, interdisciplinary coordination, construction sites, and direct mentorship from experienced professionals and firm principals. Support is also available for candidates pursuing NCARB experience requirements and professional licensure.

Candidates must currently reside in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Connecticut. Relocation assistance or consideration is limited to candidates relocating from within these states.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop thoughtful and practical architectural concepts, floor plans, elevations, details, and three-dimensional visualizations.

  • Support or lead projects involving educational, municipal, commercial, industrial, institutional, healthcare, residential-renovation, and interior-design work.

  • Prepare accurate construction drawings, specifications, presentation materials, and as-built documentation using AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Coordinate closely with in-house civil, structural, environmental, and other engineering professionals to deliver fully integrated design solutions.

  • Participate in project planning, programming, design development, construction documentation, permitting, and construction administration.

  • Review architectural work for accuracy, constructability, interdisciplinary coordination, and compliance with project requirements.

  • Apply New York State building and energy codes, accessibility requirements, local zoning ordinances, and relevant regulatory standards.

  • Conduct site visits, document existing conditions, review submittals, respond to construction questions, and observe work for consistency with the design intent.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, public agencies, and internal project teams.

  • Participate in client meetings and project presentations as appropriate to experience level.

  • Experienced candidates may develop project scopes, establish work plans, manage budgets and schedules, and provide direction to junior staff.

  • Contribute to a collaborative studio environment by sharing knowledge and supporting the professional development of colleagues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture from an accredited program.

  • Professional architectural experience appropriate to the level for which the candidate is being considered.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.

  • Strong design, technical-documentation, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

  • Working knowledge of architectural design principles, construction methods, materials, and building systems.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary architecture and engineering environment.

  • Careful attention to design accuracy, technical quality, and project details.

  • Ability and willingness to participate in project-related site visits.

  • Current residence in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Connecticut, including candidates seeking relocation to Binghamton.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Revit and Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Registered Architect status in New York State or active pursuit of professional licensure.

  • Experience with K–12 educational facilities, municipal buildings, public works, institutional projects, or healthcare architecture.

  • Familiarity with New York State building codes and public-sector approval processes.

  • Experience coordinating architectural work with multiple engineering disciplines.

  • Construction administration and field-observation experience.

  • LEED accreditation or a demonstrated interest in sustainable design principles.

  • For experienced candidates, demonstrated success leading clients, project teams, budgets, schedules, and complex assignments.
