Reports To [Confirm with client] – peer to the Chief Engineer; seat on the product
council with the founders
ABOUT THE CLIENT
Our client is a profitable, venture-backed AI software company serving community banks and credit unions
across the United States. Its platform brings voice, digital and employee-assisted channels together under a
single, continuously learning AI engine that operates autonomously. The company is trusted by hundreds of
financial institutions, is cash-flow positive, and is investing in product, engineering and go-to-market growth
to meet strong market demand.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to own one product domain end-to-end as the company scales
its next-generation agent platform. Candidate domains include the core AI platform, the agent-building
platform, voice and chat AI for the contact center, and collections and fraud.
This is a hands-on, senior individual-contributor role for an AI-native builder who has taken products from
zero to one. The Principal PM works as a peer to the Chief Engineer, partners daily with staff and principal
engineers, and holds a seat on the product council alongside the founders. The role is accountable for
outcomes and customer impact, not only for what ships, and may include mentoring junior product
managers (PM II and Senior PM).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Own the domain. Lead one product domain from strategy through delivery, owning the roadmap,
priorities and results.
• Translate demand into roadmap. Convert customer needs and internal team input into a clear,
prioritized roadmap, and deliver it with staff and principal engineers.
• Drive outcomes. Share accountability with the Chief Engineer for what the domain delivers and the
measurable impact it creates for customers.
• Build 0→1. Take new capabilities from concept to launch, staying close to technical detail, design
trade-offs and execution.

• Lead through influence. Contribute to product council decisions with the founders and align
engineering, go-to-market and customer teams around the domain strategy.
• Mentor. Coach and, where appropriate, lead junior product managers (PM II and Senior PM) while
remaining a strong individual contributor.
• Work AI-native. Use AI tools such as Claude and Cursor daily to prototype, analyze data and accelerate
decision-making and delivery.
• Engage the market. Understand the needs of community banks and credit unions and bring that
insight into product decisions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Proven 0→1 ownership at a venture-backed startup (Series A to Series D), taking products from
concept to launch.
• 8–15 years of experience as a product manager, including 3+ recent years at the Staff or Principal PM
level.
• Most recent role involved hands-on product ownership, not solely strategy or people management.
• AI fluency, demonstrated through working with tools such as Claude and Cursor, or building agents,
scripts or workflows.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Ability to work on-site in San Francisco's Financial District five days per week.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• People management experience or experience building a product team.
• Experience in financial services, fintech (consumer fintech, neobank), regulated industries, developer
tools or PLG products.
• Software, data engineering or other technical background.
• Production-scale experience with agentic AI, voice AI or conversational AI systems.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
• Technical: Agentic AI, conversational AI, voice AI, LLMs, AI/ML, platform products, rapid prototyping
with AI tools.
• Product: Roadmap ownership, prioritization, outcome-based metrics, 0→1 product development.
• Leadership: Peer-level partnership with senior engineering and founders; mentoring junior PMs.
• Working style: Hands-on, detail-oriented, comfortable with ambiguity and the pace of a growth-stage
company.
WHY THIS OPPORTUNITY
• Own an entire product domain with direct influence at the founder and product council level.
• Join a profitable, venture-backed company with strong market demand and a clear growth trajectory.
• Build agentic AI products used by hundreds of financial institutions and millions of consumers.
• Work with an AI-first culture where tools like Claude and Cursor are part of the daily workflow.
• Contribute to a mission of broadening access to financial wellness for everyday Americans.
