Wilson Veterinary Hospital is situated in the developing and growing Washington Township of Michigan, in the northern suburbs of Detroit. We offer service to patients and clients from all over Southeast Michigan, but also Northern portions of Michigan, Northern Ohio, as well as Ontario, Canada. Our unique campus is composed of a smaller general practice which houses a surgical suite, 7 exam rooms, rehab practice, and CT machine. Our larger building acts as a full service urgent care/emergency  department, as well as critical and hospitalized patient care facility (complete with infectious disease wards), orthopedic/laparoscopic and soft tissue surgery suites, reproductive department with semen storage, special procedures room for flexible and rigid endoscopy, nuclear medicine storage and 15 exam rooms.  

About Wilson Veterinary Hospital:  

Wilson Veterinary Hospital is a privately owned, two times AAHA accredited small animal hospital. We provide general practice services, ER/ Urgent Care services, critical care/ hospitalization, soft tissue, orthopedic, arthroscopic and laparoscopic surgeries, Vimago CT scanner, ultrasonography, endoscopy and small rigid scoping abilities, certified rehab technicians with underwater treadmill. We also have chiropractic care, acupuncture and radioactive medicine (Synovetin OA). Once a month a boarded cardiologist visits. The original owner (Dr. John Wilson, DVM, DACVP) believed in affordable, complete veterinary care for everyone. We have strived to continue this service. The current owners are moving the practice in a positive direction by continuing the long standing tradition of quality care at affordable prices, while promoting a positive work environment that is dedicated to our employees' work-life balance.

Emergency/Urgent Care Position: 

We are currently interviewing for our Urgent Care/ER department for both day and/or overnight positions. Duties for this position include the care and triage of Walk-In/Urgent Care or emergency patients, admission of transfers from other clinics for in hospital care or surgery, emergency surgeries as per your comfort level, and care of hospitalized patients. As a 24-hour facility, shifts are flexible allowing you to pursue your passion for medicine while maintaining an excellent work-life balance. You may be rounded as an attending clinician (and be responsible for hospitalized patients) for in house hospitalized patients and would be available to round for the next attending doctor.  

About You: 

·         Ability to build rapport with customers, fellow team members and management

·         Excellent client communication skills, with the ability to form long lasting relationships with clients and patients 

·         Confident and compassionate 

·         Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with a highly varied case load.

·         A positive and empathetic attitude 

·         Emergency Surgery experience required

·         1+ Year experience preferred in emergency medicine

·         Full time/Part time or Relief DVM opportunities

WVH Capabilities: 

·         Vimago CT Scanner and Fluoroscope Imaging  

·         Three surgical suites with full monitoring capabilities, Bionet, with EKG, pulse ox, capnography and temperature readings which integrate into our electronic medical record database. 

·         2 digital radiograph machines, standard digital radiographs, multiple, high  grade ultrasound machines 

·         Basic and advanced soft tissue equipment, Bovie electrocautery unit, suction, Voyant vessel sealing device.  

·         Three complete dental suites with two digital dental radiograph machines. - Flexible and rigid endoscopy equipment. Laparoscopic surgery equipment. - Regenerative medicine including Stem Cell and PRP 

·         The only general practice in Michigan offering Synovetin OA radiotherapeutics for canine arthritis pain. 

·         Underwater treadmill and rehabilitation equipment  

·         Class three cold laser 

·         Reproduction department with large semen storage capabilities.  - Two complete, comprehensive in house laboratory diagnostic labs. We utilize IDEXX diagnostics typically but also branch out to other labs through the country.  

·         IDEXX telemedicine including EKG readings, as well as ultrasound and radiograph interpretation services.  

What we offer our doctors:  

·         230,0000.00 (US) salary or 30% commission whichever is higher
