Tweneboah Fellow - Men's Rea™ Experiential Fellowship | Fall 2026

About the Fellowship

The Elizabeth Tweneboah Foundation is now accepting applications for our inaugural cohort of Tweneboah Fellows for our Fall 2026 Men’s Rea™ Experiential Fellowship.

Men’s Rea™ is a public intellectual initiative that explores the overlap between men, masculinity, law, relationships, the family unit, social psychology, and the institutions shaping modern life. We begin with a central inquiry: What are we getting wrong about men? From here, our work considers how contemporary notions of power, autonomy, and gender roles have influenced everyday intimate life and the well being of future generations to come.

Our fellowship offers students the opportunity to embark on this work while still in its early stages of development. Fellows will work directly with our Founder by participating in a weekly 75-minute experiential seminar and helping to develop scholarship and public-facing work. The experiential seminar is intended to be a serious working space where fellows will engage existing scholarship, encounter arguments in development, and be encouraged to challenge the work rather than simply assist with it. Each Fellow will complete a substantive portfolio over the course of the semester.

Fellowship Tracks

• Research & Editorial Fellow: Helps with scholarship, publishing, and intellectual structure. Assist with research, substantive drafting, citation development, editorial work, and the refinement of long-form Men’s Rea™ scholarship, including a principal book manuscript.

• Media & Public Scholarship Fellow: Helps with public scholarship and digital media. Help translate Men’s Rea™ ideas into public-facing writing, audiovisual content, and other digital work while preserving the intellectual seriousness and nuance of the underlying scholarship.

• Speaking & Institutional Outreach Fellow: Helps with institutional outreach & public engagement. Research and develop opportunities for lectures, podcasts, campus programs, institutional partnerships, and other public-facing engagements. Assist with outreach materials and help expand the settings in which Men’s Rea™ can be heard.

Who Should Apply

We welcome graduate and exceptional advanced undergraduate students who are intellectually curious and comfortable engaging difficult questions. Strong writing, research, communication, and judgment will be essential, depending on the track selected. Men’s Rea™ is intentionally interdisciplinary and invites applicants with backgrounds in law, the humanities, social sciences, psychology, education, public policy, media, business, and other related fields.

• Compensation: Unpaid; academic credit may be available, subject to approval by the Fellow’s home institution

*Note: Preference will be given to candidates based in or within commuting distance of the New York City metropolitan area, as opportunities for in-person participation may arise throughout the semester.
