About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Manufacturing QA Technician II to support quality assurance and food safety operations in a manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of QA experience, preferably in food production. Candidates with microbiology or chemical laboratory experience may also be considered.

This role is responsible for conducting quality testing, monitoring production processes, maintaining accurate documentation, supporting food safety and regulatory compliance, and partnering with production teams to resolve quality issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality checks on incoming raw materials and finished milk products.
  • Perform routine inspections of production processes to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Perform and document quality testing and inspections.
  • Monitor and document equipment calibration and maintenance.
  • Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve quality-related issues.
  • Evaluate test results and identify quality trends.
  • Communicate quality trends and findings to employees and management.
  • Implement and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support food safety and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Participate in internal audits and assist with external audits as needed.
  • Record, analyze, and report quality data and metrics.
  • Ensure daily quality and production records are accurate and properly maintained.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and help maintain a 6-S rating of "A."
  • Investigate and follow up on customer complaints in coordination with production.
  • Implement quality control processes and testing to meet Safeway quality standards.
  • Ensure finished products meet established specifications.
  • Assist with other quality-related projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of quality assurance experience.
  • Previous QA experience in food manufacturing or food production preferred.
  • Candidates with microbiology or chemical laboratory experience may also be considered.
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures and regulations preferred.
  • Some knowledge of HACCP and food safety preferred.
  • Experience with laboratory testing equipment and maintenance is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based PC programs.
  • Ability to effectively manage responsibilities related to food safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Flexibility to work the assigned shift and occasionally work weekends when required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
