Job description

Client is seeking an experienced Applied AI Engineer to build and scale AI-powered applications, agent workflows, and LLM-driven solutions supporting legal and professional services. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on developing production-grade AI systems, collaborating with product, engineering, and data science teams, and driving adoption of modern AI engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and deploy AI-powered applications and workflows using LLMs and agent frameworks.
Develop solutions leveraging RAG, prompt engineering, tool calling, orchestration, and multi-step AI workflows.
Build scalable APIs and cloud-native AI services.
Work with LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, OpenAI, Anthropic, MCP/A2A, and related AI technologies.
Support AI platform adoption and establish reusable engineering patterns and best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Data Science, UX, and business stakeholders.
Contribute to AI observability, evaluation, monitoring, and responsible AI initiatives.

Required Skills

6+ years of Software Engineering, AI Engineering, or Platform Engineering experience.
Strong Python development experience.
Hands-on experience building and deploying production LLM applications.
Experience with AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, OpenAI APIs, and Anthropic APIs.
Knowledge of RAG, retrieval systems, tool calling, orchestration, and AI workflow design.
Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience building AI copilots, assistants, or agentic platforms.
Experience in regulated industries such as Legal, Financial Services, Healthcare, or Compliance.
Familiarity with AI evaluation, guardrails, observability, and responsible AI practices.
Full-stack development experience is a plus.
