Job description
The Pathology Assistant provides technical and professional support to the Pathology Department by performing the gross examination, dissection, and documentation of surgical specimens under the supervision of a pathologist. Responsibilities include preparing specimens for histologic processing, ensuring accurate specimen identification and documentation, assisting with frozen sections and autopsy procedures as applicable, maintaining laboratory quality and safety standards, and collaborating with pathologists and laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic services. The Pathology Assistant is expected to follow all hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices while delivering high-quality patient care.
