Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Database Developer to join the Financial Advisor (FA) Registration Team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing platforms that manage advisor registration data, compliance controls, field reporting, and legacy system modernization.

This role involves database development, enterprise ETL processing, production support, and migration of legacy mainframe processes to modern distributed systems. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable using AI-assisted development tools within an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

Database & ETL Development

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable T-SQL stored procedures and database solutions.
• Develop and maintain database models supporting enterprise applications.
• Build and manage Informatica ETL workflows for data ingestion, validation, reconciliation, and downstream delivery.
• Develop and support enterprise batch processing workflows.
• Perform SQL query optimization and database performance tuning.

System Modernization

• Support the migration of legacy mainframe processes to modern distributed platform architectures.
• Analyze existing processes and develop scalable replacement solutions.
• Ensure solutions comply with enterprise security, governance, compliance, and data standards.

Production Support & Troubleshooting

• Investigate and resolve production database and ETL issues.
• Monitor batch processing workflows and identify failures or performance issues.
• Perform data-quality assessments and reconciliation.
• Manage exceptions and investigate data discrepancies.
• Provide timely production support and issue resolution.

AI-Assisted Development

• Use approved AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude to improve development efficiency.
• Leverage AI tools for unit testing, code development, query optimization, and technical documentation.
• Apply appropriate review and validation practices when using AI-generated code.

Agile & Release Management

• Participate in daily Scrum/Agile ceremonies.
• Manage development tasks and work items using Jira.
• Follow enterprise SDLC, change-management, and release-management processes.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, QA teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 6–8 years of experience in enterprise T-SQL development, database development, and ETL.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
• Strong experience developing stored procedures.
• Experience with database design and data modeling.
• Strong knowledge of SQL query optimization and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with Informatica is strongly preferred.
• Experience with enterprise ETL and batch processing.
• Experience with data reconciliation, data validation, and file-based feeds.
• Experience supporting production database and ETL environments.
• Knowledge of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience working with Jira.
• Understanding of change and release management processes.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to data accuracy and integrity.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Master's degree or MBA is a plus.

Work Requirements

• Must be available to work hybrid in New York, NY, with 3 days onsite per week.
• H-1B candidates only.
• Must be available for the full 12-month contract.
