Building Care Specialist

● Role Title: Building Care Specialist (Part-Time/On-Call Support)
● Reports To: Operations Director
● Compensation: $13-15.00 per hour
● Schedule: Flexible, asynchronous schedule, approximately 10 hours per week, requires support during peak facility usage days and occasional late-night cleaning shifts.

Summary 

The Building Care Specialist provides vital operational support to ensure the facility remains clean, orderly, and presentable during high-traffic periods. This role is designed to support our core cleaning staff by managing routine high-maintenance areas and tackling detailed cleaning tasks that keep the building looking its best. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, adaptable to changing facility schedules, and able to work independently. 

Key Responsibilities 

• High-Traffic Floor Care: Perform consistent, thorough sweeping and full-surface mopping of the basketball court floor to maintain safety and performance standards. Sweep, vacuum, and mop hard flooring surfaces and turf across the facility as needed.
•  Facility Cleaning & Support: Perform general and deep cleaning tasks to maintain high standards of hygiene across all areas of the building, especially on high-volume days.
• Kitchen & Common Areas: Wash and dry dishes/appliances; wipe down and tidy counters and surfaces; empty all trash and cardboard bins into the dumpster. 
• Restrooms: Clean, sanitize, and restock all restroom facilities (sinks, toilets, floors, soap, and paper products). 
• Reporting: Report any maintenance issues, damages, or low supply stock to management promptly.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to clean and maintain commercial, community spaces, or athletic facilities.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional late nights or on-call shifts based on court schedules and facility usage.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively without direct supervision.

• Physical stamina to perform intensive floor care (e.g., multi-hour court mopping), lift up to 50 lbs, and handle continuous physical tasks.

• Reliable transportation and excellent communication/punctuality.
