Nationwide Mobile Notary – Independent Contractor (1099)

Brandon Stevens Mobile Notary Services, LLC is expanding our nationwide notary network and is seeking experienced, dependable commissioned Notaries Public in multiple states across the United States.

This opportunity is designed for established notaries who are comfortable handling assignments independently and professionally. We are specifically seeking experienced notaries and are not currently recruiting newly commissioned notaries with little or no practical signing experience.

Position Overview

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity and is NOT a salaried or hourly position. Notaries are offered assignments based on client demand, geographic location, availability, experience, and the requirements of each individual assignment.

Compensation is pay-per-job/assignment. There are no guaranteed hours, minimum number of assignments, or guaranteed earnings. Compensation and applicable terms will be discussed with selected candidates and/or provided when assignments are offered.

As an independent contractor, you are responsible for your own federal, state, and local taxes and any other obligations associated with self-employment.

Responsibilities

Notaries in our network may be asked to:

• Travel to clients at homes, businesses, hospitals, healthcare facilities, public meeting locations, and other agreed-upon locations.
• Properly identify signers and perform notarizations in accordance with the laws and regulations of their commissioned state.
• Complete notarial certificates accurately and maintain required notary records or journals.
• Communicate professionally with clients and our scheduling team.
• Arrive at accepted assignments on time and prepared.
• Follow assignment-specific instructions, including printing, scanning, shipping, or returning documents when required.
• Protect confidential client and document information.
• Promptly communicate any issues that could affect completion of an assignment.

Qualifications

Applicants must:

• Hold a current and active Notary Public commission in their state.
• Have previous hands-on notary experience. This opportunity is not intended for newly commissioned notaries without practical experience.
• Have a strong understanding of their state's notary laws and requirements.
• Have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to mobile assignments.
• Have reliable phone, text, and email access.
• Demonstrate professionalism, accuracy, dependability, and strong communication skills.
• Be comfortable working independently and managing accepted assignments.

Experience with real estate/loan signings, powers of attorney, estate planning documents, healthcare facility assignments, general notary work, or other specialized notarizations is a plus.

Independent Contractor Status & Compensation

This is a 1099 independent contractor, pay-per-job opportunity within our nationwide notary network.

Independent contractors are not employees of Brandon Stevens Mobile Notary Services, LLC. This opportunity does not include health insurance, paid time off, retirement benefits, workers' compensation benefits provided to employees, or other employee benefits.

Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, transportation expenses, equipment, supplies, licensing/commission requirements, and other business expenses unless otherwise specifically agreed upon for an individual assignment.

Assignment availability will vary by location and client demand. Notaries may accept or decline assignments offered to them, subject to the terms of the contractor relationship.

Specific compensation rates and additional contractor terms will be discussed with candidates who are selected to join our notary network.
