Registered Nurse (RN) – Federal Healthcare Contract

Shiprock, New Mexico | On-site | Contract | Immediate Start

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for a long-term federal healthcare assignment supporting the Indian Health Service (IHS), Navajo Area in Shiprock, New Mexico.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate inpatient and/or outpatient nursing care.
  • Assess patients, administer medications/treatments, perform IV therapy and venipuncture, and manage pain and emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
  • Follow IHS, HIPAA, Privacy Act, hospital, and nursing standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians, supervisors, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Provide culturally sensitive care to diverse patient populations.
  • Support different nursing units and schedules as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted U.S. RN license — any U.S. state, D.C., Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory.
  • Minimum 3 years (36 months) nursing experience.
  • 2+ years of specialty experience, where applicable.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Strong English communication and documentation skills.
  • Basic computer and healthcare IT proficiency.
  • Professionalism, flexibility, and cultural awareness.

Preferred

ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ATCN, or NLS certification.

Experience in ambulatory care, primary care, outpatient/inpatient nursing, emergency nursing, rural healthcare, or IHS/federal healthcare is highly desirable.

Contract & Schedule

  • 6-month base contract + 6-month option
  • On-site | Shiprock, New Mexico
  • 15 openings | Immediate start
  • 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts; weekends/holidays may be required
  • Shift assignments determined by facility needs

Pre-Employment Requirements

Successful candidates may be required to complete medical/fitness evaluation, immunization and TB screening, background investigation, fingerprinting/security clearance, orientation, and facility-specific training.
