IT Systems Administrator

Job Title: 

We are seeking a hands-on IT Systems Administrator–level partner contractor to act as an execution arm for our IT and security environment buildout. This role is focused on implementation—not strategy. Architecture, roadmap, and compliance direction are already defined.

This is a build-and-stabilize engagement supporting our path to SOC 2 Type 1 readiness (target: August).

Key Responsibilities (Execution-Focused)

Endpoint & Device Management

• Implement and manage MDM for Mac and Windows environments

• Enforce device baselines, patching, and security policies

• Standardize endpoint configurations and compliance controls

Identity & Access Management

• Configure and optimize Google Workspace environment

• Implement MFA, OU structure, and role-based access controls

• Operationalize onboarding/offboarding workflows

• Conduct access reviews and enforce least-privilege access

• Support laptop provisioning workflows

IT Service Management (ITSM)

• Stand up and configure ticketing system (greenfield)

• Implement change management and request tracking workflows

• Integrate ITSM with identity, endpoint, and other systems

Email Security & Backup

• Configure or re-architect email security stack

• Implement phishing protection and monitoring controls

• Establish email backup and recovery capabilities

Network & Infrastructure

• Support firewall transition (including Meraki replacement)

• Implement network segmentation and policy enforcement

• Perform environment cleanup and standardization

Compliance & Audit Readiness

• Implement SOC 2-aligned controls across systems

• Enable logging, monitoring, and evidence collection

• Support audit readiness and documentation requirements

Nice to Have

• AWS support (IAM, SSO, foundational configuration)

• Experience building internal knowledge bases or AI-assisted IT workflows

Ideal Profile

• Strong hands-on experience across endpoint, identity, network, and SaaS environments

• Proven track record in executing in greenfield or partially deployed environments

• Experience supporting SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks

• Ability to operate independently and deliver against defined roadmaps

• MSP or consulting background preferred
