Platform Engineer

Biohax operates at the intersection of precision medicine, longevity, diagnostics, and personalized supplementation. It is a growing ecosystem that includes Biohax Medical, Biohax Dental, and a biomarker-driven health optimization platform. We're building the technology infrastructure that powers all three.

Our team includes physicians, healthcare clinicians, and technologists working together to build systems that help individuals better understand, optimize, and take control of their health.

We are seeking a Miami based Founding Platform Engineer to lead the architecture, infrastructure, security, and development of our core technology platform.

This is not a traditional software engineering role.

You will work directly with founders and leadership to make foundational technical decisions, build products from the ground up, and help define the future of healthcare technology at Biohax.

What you'll own

Platform Architecture

・ Design and evolve the architecture of Biohax's health technology ecosystem

・ Build scalable systems supporting medical, dental, and consumer health products

・ Establish engineering standards, documentation, testing, and development workflows

・ Drive technical strategy and architectural decision-making across the organization

・ Create systems designed for reliability, scalability, maintainability, and security

Product Development

・ Build and maintain full-stack applications used by patients, providers, and internal teams

・ Develop AI-powered tools leveraging biomarker and health data

・ Design APIs and backend services supporting multiple products and applications

・ Collaborate closely with leadership to translate business requirements into technical solutions

・ Own products from concept through deployment and ongoing iteration

Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps

・ Own and manage Biohax's Google Cloud Platform infrastructure

・ Design scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud architectures

・ Implement CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, and observability

・ Manage deployment environments, system reliability, and disaster recovery planning

・ Establish infrastructure best practices as the company scales

Security, Privacy, & Compliance

・ Implement security best practices across applications, infrastructure, and data pipelines

・ Design systems that responsibly handle Protected Health Information (PHI)

・ Manage authentication, authorization, permissions, and role-based access controls

・ Conduct security reviews and proactively identify vulnerabilities and risks

・ Establish internal standards for privacy, security, and compliance

・ Partner with leadership to maintain a culture of responsible data stewardship

Cost Optimization & Operational Excellence

・ Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure spending

・ Evaluate vendors, tools, and technology investments

・ Build systems that balance performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency

・ Establish metrics and operational processes to support long-term growth

Experience designing secure systems that manage sensitive user data and cloud infrastructure is more important than direct experience with our exact technology stack.

Qualifications

Required

・ 5+ years of software engineering experience

・ Strong experience building modern full-stack applications

・ Experience architecting and deploying cloud-based systems

・ Experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure

・ Strong understanding of APIs, authentication, databases, and distributed systems

・ Experience building and owning products from concept through production

・ Ability to operate independently and make sound technical decisions

・ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred

・ HealthTech, MedTech, FinTech, InsurTech, or other regulated-industry experience

・ Experience handling sensitive customer or patient data

・ Experience implementing security frameworks and compliance controls

・ Experience with AI products, LLMs, and agent-based workflows

・ Startup or high-growth company experience

・ Experience scaling systems supporting thousands of users

・ Experience optimizing cloud infrastructure costs and performance
